Cute kids bring in holiday season

By Julia Embree

Susan had 16 of the cutest kids at storytime this past week!

They colored foam pumpkins, read books about pumpkins and Halloween and each child got his or her own little pumpkin.

The next storytime is at 10 a.m. Nov. 18 and will be about Thanksgiving.

Remember, next Tuesday, Oct. 27 is the last day to turn in the coloring sheets for the Halloween coloring contest.

The library was recently given two copies of “O Is For Oil” by Susan Jacobs. This is the third book in the series done for children by the Oklahoma Energy Resource Board. These are such good books and explain about petroleum.

We were also given “Mountain Splendor” by W. Phillip Keller, “American Greats” by Robert A. Wilson and “Ansel Adams: Landscapes of the American West” by Lauris Morgan-Griffiths.

I finally took all my hummingbird feeders down after not seeing any birds for a couple of weeks. My sister, who lives out of Madill, still has some hummers daily so she still has hers up.

Aren’t the trees turning the most beautiful colors this year! I guess all the rain we have had helps them. I know some years we are so dry the leaves die before they turn, but not this year. Take time to drive around town and see them.
