Teller, 21, charged with helping boyfriend rob bank

Ada, Oklahoma — Police said a young teller has been arrested along with her boyfriend in a brazen armed bank robbery. A third suspect is still being sought.

Two masked gunmen held up the Citizens Bank of Ada last Friday, escaping with $78,800 in cash.

Police did not suspect the teller, Meagan Short, 21, until they learned she was not tied up with another bank employee, and had opened the bank vault for the robbers.

They also became suspicious when they said Short told police her boyfriend, David J. Cole, had been talking seriously about robbing the bank.

A search of the residence shared by Short and Cole turned up the bank loot in a black bag hidden in the attic.

Police arrested Short and Cole earlier this week in connection with the bank heist and said they are still searching for the other masked robber.
