Burglar who called 911 when victim pulled gun gets probation

WEATHERFORD, Texas — A man who authorities say called 911 after he burglarized a home in December and was held at gunpoint by the resident received seven years probation for the offense.

Christopher Lance Moore, 41, pleaded guilty to burglary of a habitation in the 43rd District Court Monday and had a 10-year prison sentence probated, court records show.

The sentence includes 200 hours of community service and a $2,000 fine.

Moore was arrested after a resident in the 100 block of Lelon Lane near Springtown called 911 around 12:30 a.m. Dec. 4 and reported he was holding a burglar at gunpoint.

The suspect called 911, as well, according to the sheriff’s office.

The resident told deputies that he and his wife awoke to find a man wearing dark clothing and a hooded sweatshirt standing in their bedroom.

When Moore exited the home and walked toward a pickup parked in the driveway, the resident reportedly ordered the suspect to stop.

Deputies reportedly found both men on the phone with emergency dispatchers and the complainant holding the suspect at gunpoint.

When the victim asked Moore what he was doing inside of his residence, Moore answered, “Just unlucky, I guess,” according to the sheriff’s report.

The victim also told deputies that when he asked the suspect what his intentions were inside the home, Moore replied, “bad intentions.”
