Fatality wreck still has questions

Garvin County — Authorities are still unsure what happened to cause a Stratford motorist to drive into the back of another vehicle resulting in an accident that claimed his life.

Killed in the two-vehicle accident early Friday was 35-year-old Jeremy Miller of Stratford.

Miller was alone while driving a 2008 Ford pickup that came up from behind and struck another vehicle a few miles from Davis.

State troopers reported Miller’s vehicle was traveling westbound on state Highway 7.

Traveling in the same direction on the same highway was a tractor truck driven by David York, 43, of Sulphur.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol report shows Miller’s pickup struck the tractor truck from behind at a listed time of 6:05 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21 at a site just west of Chickasaw Trail and about 3 miles east of Davis in neighboring Murray County.

Miller was transported by Murray County E.M.S. to Arbuckle Memorial Hospital in Sulphur, where he died from the massive injuries he sustained in the accident.

The report shows York was not injured. Both men are reported to have been wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

Troopers are reporting it remains unknown the condition of Miller leading up to the tragic accident. The cause of the wreck is still being investigated.

Assisting troopers and first responders from Murray County, Sulphur and Davis at the wreck site were Stratford police and Garvin County deputies.
