Plenty of questions still remain about a weekend report of a small group of people being held up at gunpoint in Pauls Valley.
A filed report shows Pauls Valley police are still not sure if a gun was actually used in some type of incident early Sunday morning in the 2500 block of West Grant.
Responding officers soon learned that none of the individuals reporting the incident actually saw a gun as one woman claimed to be told about the weapon by two male subjects she had earlier been with while driving around town.
A successful search for the sports utility vehicle involved later resulted in one arrest and a second subject fleeing the scene on foot.
Taken into custody on a trio of arrest complaints, none of which included a weapons allegation, was Gregory Miles, 25, of Hennepin.
A second subject, whose name has not yet been released, is still being sought after he ran from a traffic stop made by local officers.
The incident began just after midnight on Sunday morning when local authorities were contacted about an incident that allegedly involved a firearm.
The vehicle driven by the two male suspects was soon found in the parking lot of a convenience store parking lot in the 800 block of East Grant.
The vehicle was soon stopped by officers on Locust Street. Moments later a passenger got out and immediately began running away disappearing behind a nearby church, according to a police report.
At the same time the driver, identified as Miles, was at gunpoint ordered to show his hands.
With both hands in the air he was told to step out and get down to his knees, where he placed in handcuffs and taken into custody.
After the fleeing suspect could not be located, the vehicle driven by Miles was towed away and he was taken to county jail on the complaints of driving under the influence of alcohol, transporting an open container and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
It was later learned Miles had an arrest warrant issued for him in Carter County, while the second suspect was sought on a similar warrant in Pontotoc County.
