Pauls Valley — A theft from a ballpark concession stand — specifically loads of candy — now has Pauls Valley authorities turning to the public for help.
The incident drawing the public plea was a break-in at the concession facility at the local high school baseball fields located in Wacker Park.
The break-in was discovered Friday when a Pauls Valley city employee happened to be driving by the fields and noticed a concession building door was left open.
That got the process in motion as other city and even school employees were contacted and informed of the situation.
Once those employees got inside the concession stand they discovered a tub containing a few hundred dollars worth of candy had been stolen.
Now local police are hoping that somebody out there can provide a tip that leads to those responsible for the theft.
“We’re asking that anyone with information about this to call the police department or Crimestoppers,” Pauls Valley Police Chief Scott Robbins said.
“My hopes are somebody has heard someone talking about it or has seen someone with a large amount of candy that could have come from this. If they do I am encouraging them to contact us,” he said.
Anyone with information about the crime can contact the Pauls Valley Police Department at 238-5531 or the local Crimestoppers at 405-238-7776. Callers will remain anonymous and can earn a reward through Crimestoppers, Robbins said.
