Man hurt in lone wreck
Authorities believe it was the inexperience of the driver that led to a four-wheeler accident near Stratford late last week.
Hurt was 20-year-old Masato Ishizum of Edmond.
The incident occurred Friday afternoon at a site several miles northeast of Stratford.
Ishizum was alone on a 2004 Yamaha Bruin four-wheeler driving eastbound on a Garvin County road.
At one point the vehicle went off the road, to the left, striking a ditch and rolling over once.
Ishizum, who was not wearing a helmet, was initially taken by Valley View EMS to Gaar Corner.
He was then taken by air ambulance to O.U. Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Initially he was admitted in serious condition with trunk internal, arm and head injuries. No updated information on his condition was available Monday.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Brian Bagwell of the Pontotoc County Detachment listed an inexperienced driver as the cause of the accident.
Assisting at the accident site were Pontotoc County deputies and Oil Center and Ada firefighters.
