Sex scandal points to area attorney

bporterfield@pvdemocrat.com — A Wynnewood attorney is now on the other side of the law after he was formally charged Tuesday with soliciting a female client for sex with her and her two teenage daughters in exchanged for lower legal fees.

The allegations are against Jeremy Daniel Oliver, 33, who now faces three criminal charges, including felony counts of sending text messages to ask the woman for the sexual favors and sending an obscene photo of himself.

The charges come after she first contacted police in Norman before going to the Garvin County Sheriff’s Department.

An affidavit filed Tuesday afternoon shows the 36-year-old women claimed Oliver wanted to have nude photos or sex with both her and her two teenage daughters. The youngest girl is listed as 13 years old.

The woman alleges Oliver asked for the sexual favors in return for reduced attorney fees he would receive for representing her in a criminal case filed last fall here in Garvin County. The fugitive from justice charge was dismissed back on Jan. 24.

According to the affidavit submitted to prosecutors by Captain Travis Crawford of the sheriff’s office, deputies were present this past weekend when the woman received text messages from Oliver and a photo of his private parts.

“The deputies witnessed the request of nude pictures and Jeremy wanting to have sex with the daughters,” Crawford stated in the court document.

“The text messages sent from Jeremy Oliver request to have sex with both daughters and mother.”

Oliver is accused of offering to take $1,000 off the legal fees for sexual favors and/or nude photos of the 18-year-old daughter. The offer involving the younger girl was for $500, the affidavit stated.

During a search of Oliver’s residence in Wynnewood deputies found several hundred pornographic photos in a variety of mediums, including DVDs, compact discs, computer, cell phones and magazines.

Also found was an undisclosed amount of marijuana.

One of the phones also displayed the same obscene photo earlier sent to the woman, according to the affidavit.

Sheriff Larry Rhodes says an investigation is continuing as he invites anyone with information about the case to call the sheriff’s office at 405-238-7591.

“From evidence at the residence there is a real possibility there may be other victims,” Rhodes said.

The actual charges filed Tuesday afternoon in Garvin County District Court against Oliver include two felonies, soliciting sexual conduct or communication with minor by use of technology and obscene material - publish/distribute/participate.

A misdemeanor count of possessing marijuana was also filed

Moments after his initial court appearance in the case Oliver was released after posting a $25,000 bond.
