Weekend ride turns tragic
A weekend ride on an all-terrain vehicle by three individuals, including a Lindsay woman, turned tragic when it overturned in a neighboring county killing a young Texas boy.
Pronounced dead at the scene from massive trauma was 8-year-old Michael McCloud of Richardson, Texas.
The boy and Lindsay resident Sue Harrison, 59, were passengers on a 2005 Yamaha Rhino ATV driven by 12-year-old Kinsey McCloud, also of Richardson.
State troopers listed the time of the accident at 4:46 p.m. Saturday at a site just north of Meridian Avenue in McClain County.
Reports show the vehicle was turned sharply to the left as the three were riding on dirt in a pasture.
The ATV is reported to have then rolled onto the passenger side ejecting both front seat passengers.
The vehicle came to rest on top of the young boy, troopers reported.
The two other passengers were not injured.
Investigating the accident site were troopers from the Cleveland/McClain County Detachment.
