There appears to be plenty of questions left over after an alleged assault that resulted in an unnamed subject losing part of a finger.
The report came in the early morning hours of Tuesday when Pauls Valley police were dispatched to a South Ash residence.
Once there the officers were told by a male subject that only moments earlier a woman at the residence struck him on the head and cut part of his finger off.
Reports reveal the man then showed officers the tip of his finger had been cut off just below the finger nail.
Questions still remain for authorities as to why the alleged act occurred.
Those same questions appear to be the case for the injured man as well since he told officers he didn’t know what the woman’s motives were, according to police reports.
While on the trip to the local hospital the man said the unnamed woman was staying the night at the residence.
He claimed to tell her in the living room to turn the lights and television off later as he went to sleep in his bedroom.
Reports indicate the strange part came next as the man claimed the woman came into his room and struck him on the head, possibly using her fist.
He woke up and slung his arm up, which is when he believes the woman used some type of tool to cut his finger off.
“He said that his finger wasn't completely cut off; that it was hanging by a little bit,” officer Jerry Kraft stated in a filed report.
In an apparent moment of panic the man claims he tore the rest of his finger off and threw it into the toilet. He quickly changed his mind and retrieved the piece before making the decision to have an ambulance crew transport him to the hospital.
It was later determined the man had also suffered multiple fractures to his face, which could require a surgical procedure to repair.
