A break-in at a Pauls Valley convenience store appears to have been stopped while it was happening as a trio of suspects are likely facing some criminal charges.
The incident in the early morning hours Wednesday came at the Stop-N-Go store in the 400 block of East Grant.
There a witness claimed to see three male subjects next to the store while the front door’s glass was broken out.
Local authorities also said two of the three subjects admitted to forcing their way into the store and taking a variety of items before fleeing the scene.
Quickly taken into custody on burglary complaints were Ryan Scott Dinwiddie, 27, Clarence Willie Brooks, 23, and Lance Kyle Childress, 21.
PV police were contacted about the burglary-in-progress at a listed time of 5:18 a.m. Wednesday.
Within minutes officers spotted two male subjects running northbound across Grant Avenue onto North Cherry Street.
One of those subjects then took off running, while the second, later identified as Dinwiddie, was stopped and placed in investigative custody.
It was learned the subject running from officers was Brooks, while a third suspect was Childress.
Reports show information next led officers to check a surveillance video at another local store, which reportedly showed Brooks making a purchase. It also showed the clothing worn by Brooks matched that of the fleeing subject earlier in the day.
According to police, Dinwiddie confessed to breaking into the store with the two other subjects, who were later found at a residence in the 500 block of East Bradley. Both subjects were found at the local house and arrested.
Brooks is reported to have also admitted to stealing from the store but refused to sign a statement, while Childress refused to speak to officers, according to police.
All three subjects were booked into county jail on the burglary complaints.
