Three Pauls Valley churches are offering free Thanksgiving day meals to anyone who’d like to partake.
At San Mateo United Methodist, volunteers plan to serve a traditional holiday meal at the fellowship center from 2-4 p.m.
Anyone who is unable to get to the church at 602 S. Chickasaw St. can call for a ride, the Rev. Perla Goody said. Goody is also still looking for a few folks to help serve dinner and to deliver Thanksgiving meals to people who are homebound. To volunteer, or to arrange for a ride to the church on Thursday, call (405) 238-9875.
The Rev. Goody wants to be sure everyone has food on Thanksgiving day, so church members planned the outreach effort.
Also Thursday, members of the Cornerstone Community Church sponsor a Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Little Ben’s Pizza. The church’s phone number is (405) 207-9222.
And, at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, a Thanksgiving meal is served at Cherry Street Chapel, 506 S. Cherry St.
