Authorities are still unsure what caused an Elmore City man to overturn the motorcycle he was riding on Sunday.
Shannon D. Keesee, 36, sustained injuries in the Sunday accident that resulted in him being taken to two different hospitals.
The time of the accident was listed at 8:40 p.m. Keesee was reportedly on an interstate ramp in Murray County when the accident occurred.
He was riding a 1996 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on an Interstate 35 off-ramp about 15 miles south of Pauls Valley. The site intersects with state Highway 7.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers reported they don’t know the reason for the cycle overturning. However, an unsafe speed is the suspected cause of the accident.
Keesee, who was not reported to be wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was initially transported by Murray County EMS to Arbuckle Memorial Hospital in Sulphur. He was later taken by air ambulance and admitted into OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he was listed in stable condition with head and leg injuries.
Lead investigator in the case is OHP trooper Doug Brinson of the Murray County Detachment. Assisting at the scene were Murray County deputies and Davis firefighters and police.
