Lindsay voters have until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27 to apply to have absentee ballots mailed to them for an upcoming election.
Application forms are available at the Garvin County Election Board office located on the first floor of the county courthouse in Pauls Valley or at www.ok.gov/elections online.
The municipal election in Lindsay will come on Tuesday, March 5.
On the ballot are a total of five candidates vying for four posts on the city council there.
Lindsay candidates include Brandon Fentem, Anthony Adams, Todd Hinckley, Jake Pool and Betty L. Foster.
During that election there will be two Lindsay precincts open. They are the Bill Mitchell Complex, 308 SW 2nd, and the REC Multi-Purpose Center, state Highway 76 just north of SH 19.
Other municipal elections will come on April 2.
On those ballots are city races in Pauls Valley, Elmore City and Stratford.
In PV there are a couple of posts on the local city council up for grabs. In both cases incumbents are seeking another four-year term.
Mayor Tim Gamble is set to go against Patrick Grimmett in one race, while the other has Councilman Hal Blevins going against Jeff Paine and Zachary Brumley.
A total of three races are currently set in Elmore City.
One is between Searcy J. Simmons Jr. and David K. Schmidt for the Ward 1 office on EC’s town council. The office has a four-year term.
Filing for the Ward 4 two-year unexpired term on the council are Tim Clark, Tony E. Brister and Victoria Wampler.
Incumbent mayor in Elmore City, Larry Dale Cleveland, is now set to go against Joel E. Crawford.
The single race in Stratford is for town treasurer between Sharon Bellew and David Alberson.
