For all of those who are fans of the NBC hit primetime show “The Biggest Loser,” viewers will have the opportunity this weekend to experience the show like never before.

Auditions for “The Biggest Loser” will be 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday on Campus Corner at O’Connell’s Irish Pub -- Grill, 769 Asp St.

“We’re very excited about this,” said Joe Wilhite, a member of the Campus Corner board of directors. “This is a very positive thing for the people and for Campus Corner.”

According to a press release from Jen Tregarthen of the Norman Convention -- Visitors Bureau, the show “is searching for family member teams of two who have at least 100 pounds each to lose.

“Casting producers are looking for outgoing and charismatic family teams, especially those who have the personality, desire and competitive edge to vie for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lose weight, change their lives forever and compete for a grand prize of $250,000.”

Producers of the show previously held auditions in March at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill in Oklahoma City.

Hundreds of people turned out for the event, and Wilhite expects to see a very similar crowd Saturday.

“The event went very well last time. They have a large following, and there was a lot of excitement,” Wilhite said. “I think it’s going to be the same on Saturday. (People) will be amazed at how many people are going to be there.”

Applicants are asked to arrive no earlier than three hours prior to the event. NBC producers will try to hold auditions for the first 500 people in line.

Candidates should bring a non-returnable photo of them and their partner. Individuals without a partner can audition on their own.
