James Oliver Crouse

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — James Oliver Crouse of Pauls Valley was born May 26, 1956 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to Robert and Alta Crouse.

He passed away October 23, 2012 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 56 years.

James joined the United States Coast Guard in 1974 and earned a rank of Subsistence Specialist Third Class as well as a National Defense Service Medal, the Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation and the Coast Guard Good Conduct Award.

James concluded his tour of duty on June 1, 1980. After joining the Coast Guard he and Vickie Victor were married in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on May 31, 1975. He worked as a Farmer and was a Fence Builder.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alto O. Crouse; grandmother, Jessie Crouse, and grandmother, Hattie Bell Newcomb.

Surviving family include his wife of 37 years, Vickie Crouse of the home; two sons: Jimmy Crouse and Jonathan Crouse and his wife Sheena; his father, Robert O. Crouse, all of Pauls Valley; three sisters: Sherrie Tucker and her husband Rick of Wayne, Robin Woodruff and her husband Gary of Marietta, and Regina Gregg of Pauls Valley; one brother, Ronald Crouse and his wife Becky of Clearwater, Florida; three grandchildren: Nicholas Crouse of Elmore City, and Maci Crouse and Salynn Edson, both of Pauls Valley; as well as a special friend, Dave Hagan of Pauls Valley.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Perla Goody.
