Betty M. McKinley

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Betty McKinley, 81, was born on April 13, 1931 to Myran and Cecil (Summers) Davis in Keokuk, Iowa. Betty went to be with our Lord on December 9, 2012 in Oklahoma City at the St. Anthony Hospital.

She was a member of Beaty Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny, of the home in Pauls Valley. Betty was the oldest of three girls and one brother who is deceased.

Johnny and Betty have two sons: Brock and wife Kathy of Pauls Valley, Brian and wife Stephanie of Houston, Texas; and one daugther, Cindy Blevins of Pauls Valley.

They have 10 grandsons and five granddaughthers, 20 great-grandsons and six great-granddaughters. Also a loving sister-in-law, Winnnie Johnson, and a brother-in-law, LeBob McKinley. Lots of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

After high school, Betty joined the U.S. Air Force. She and Johnny met at a basketball game while they both were stationed in Denver, Colo., Lowry A.F.B.

Johnny said he saw Betty standing on the steps in the basketball gym and thought she was the most beautiful woman he ever saw. Their first date was in January of 1950 and they married on March 4, 1950. They were married 62 years, nine months, and five days.

Betty enjoyed water skiing, motorcycle vacation trips and motorcycle rallies. She owned and ran the Western Café for about five years. She was a nurses aid for 10 years at the Pauls Valley Hospital.

She was Johnny’s secretary at their motorcycle shop, Rebel Suzuki in Pauls Valley. Betty also loved being with her family.

After they were married Betty and Johnny lived in Pauls Valley for 37 years. They moved to Corpus Christi to be a Kawaski Sales Manager. After 11 years, they decided to come home to Pauls Valley in 2001. They built their dream home together on 105 Fields Row.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Beaty Baptist Church with Pastor Stephen Reid officiating.

Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
