J.K. Wallace

J.K. Wallace of Pauls Valley was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Pauls Valley, Okla., to James Arthur and Martha (Brown) Wallace.

He passed away Jan. 8, 2010, in Pauls Valley at the age of 85 years.

J.K. Wallace and Wilma Wallace Holmes were married Dec. 11, 1947, in Pauls Valley. J.K. was a World War II veteran. He entered the U.S. Navy on Jan. 19, 1943, and earned the rank of fireman, first class. He served until his separation from the Navy on Dec. 10, 1945.

He worked as a carpenter and has built, roofed and repaired many homes in the Pauls Valley area. The Pauls Valley area has been his home all of his life. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard Wallace and Thurman Wallace; and three sisters, Frances Russell, Lennie Maud Eden and Myrtle Young.

Surviving family include his wife of 62 years, Wilma of the home; their children, Pamela Anderson of Paoli; Michael Wallace of Pauls Valley; Cindy Townsend of Paoli and Mary Ann Nunley of Wynnewood; 13 grandchildren, Shawn, Chris, Devin, Heather, Carri, Brent, Carrie, Rachel, Cody, Daniel, Toby, Scott and Ragan; 17 great-grandchildren; and one brother, James Arthur “Sonny” Wallace Jr., of Edmond.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 11, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by the Rev. Troy Baker. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
