Mary Ruth Mobley Lucas

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Mary Ruth Mobley Lucas of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma was born to Winn and Jennie (Schwartz) Mobley on September 8, 1928 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed from this life on September 28, 2012 at her home in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years.

Mary grew up and attended school in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. On August 2, 1947, Mary married Gordon Lucas. Together they spent 64 years together, making their home in Pauls Valley.

In her spare time Mary enjoyed sewing for her children, cooking, and playing dominoes. She square danced for years and enjoyed spending time at the lake.

Mary was a wonderful mother and a loving caretaker of Gordon. The highlights of her life were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Lucas is survived by her children: Debra Dixon and her husband Gerald of Wynnewood, Fran Turner and her husband Bill, and John Lucas and his wife Ann, all of Longview, Washington, and Greg Lucas and Tina of Pauls Valley; six grandchildren: Matt Dixon, Clay Dixon, Andrew Turner, Ellen Turner, Madeline Allis and Garner Lucas; three great-grandchildren: Drake Dixon, Conrad Dixon and Deagan Dixon; and sister: Frances McCurley of Norman, Oklahoma

Mrs. Lucas was preceded in death by her husband Gordon Lucas, daughter Jennifer Lucas, grandson, Connor Lucas, parents Winn and Jennie Mobley, brothers Wesley Mobley and Charles Mobley, and sisters Weta Winters and Kathryn Sorrels.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Lucas, Bill Turner and Glen Murray officiating.

Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
