Martha Ann Elizabeth Williams


Long-time resident Martha Ann Elizabeth Williams, age 95, passed away July 27, 2009. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009 at the Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance with Rev. Tom Buzbee officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.

Martha was born October 17, 1913 in St. Louis, Okla. Her parents were Will and Allie (Bean) Jackson. She graduated from Union Springs High School.

John W. Williams and Martha were married on December 24, 1937 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. They were parents of two sons and two daughters.

Martha worked for 29 years for the Pauls Valley Public School System. She was administrator of the school lunch program. She was an active member of the First Christian Church until her health prohibited her form attending.

Martha served in the church in several capacities. Faith, family and education were very important to her.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, John Williams; parents, Will and Allie Jackson; sisters, Eula Jackson and Louisa Garland; son-in-law, Don Russell; and daughter-in-law, Saundra Williams.

Survivors include her sons: Larry Williams and wife Amy of Newport, Arkansas, and Jim Williams and wife Debra of Lindsay, Oklahoma; daughters: Junelle Rafferty and husband Charlie of Vinita, Oklahoma, and Johnnie Russell of Norman, Oklahoma. Grandchildren include Kevin Williams, Sheri Williams, Christie Battenfield, Alan Rafferty, Mark Russell, Jennifer Robinson and Stacy Duncan; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews including special niece Elizabeth Garrison of Pauls Valley.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Williams, Alan Rafferty, Mark Russell, Paul Battenfield, Joel Duncan and Steve Robinson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Tom Buzbee. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
