Leta “Ilene” Ross

Leta “Ilene” Ross of Pauls Valley, beloved wife of Paul J. Ross, passed away August 21, 2009 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years. She has gone to be with her beloved Lord Jesus Christ.

She was born to Henry and Bonnie Tucker on June 26, 1931 in Tribbey, Oklahoma. She moved to Pauls Valley with her family in the early ‘40s where she has lived for the remainder of her life.

Ilene married Paul J. Ross on November 3, 1951 and have been married for 58 years.

Ilene is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Bonnie Tucker.

Surviving family include her husband, Paul; and one sister, Cleta Coffey; two nephews, Elwin Coffey and Jerry Coffey; and one niece, Marsha Fryar.

Ilene started working at Wackers upon graduation from Pauls Valley High School in 1950. She was the executive secretary for 20 years for Toots Sacra before retiring and helping her husband run the Dairy Twist.

Ilene and Paul did not have any children and therefore shared their love with their beloved pets and also their devoted Dairy Twist family.

Ilene really would have liked to have attended the Faith Temple Church. However, due to her years of declining health she was unable to attend. Ilene was a very firm believer in Jesus Christ.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to P.A.W.S. at 300 East Airport Road, Pauls Valley, Ok. 73075.

Pallbearers will be James Tobey, Buck Pearson, Darrell Pender, Tommy Reece, Robby Reece and Aaron Gilbert. Honorary bearers will be Fred Cochran and Wayne Noe.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. M.E. Sellers and Rev. Joe Hazlitt. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
