Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Lorene O’Neal of Pauls Valley passed away January 29, 2013 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 92 years. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Lorene was born May 27, 1920 to Ernest Lee and Ida Mae (Carruthers) Carnell. She was married August 14, 1937 to Marion O’Neal in Purcell, Oklahoma. She lived in the Garvin County area all of her life. Lorene retired after 27 years with the Pauls Valley State School, now S.O.R.C.

To family she was known as “Nannaw.”

Lorene loved to travel and be in the outdoors, camping and fishing. Above all she loved her family. She was a wonderful caregiver not only to her family and friends but to anyone who touched her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion O’Neal; parents, Ernest and Ida Mae Carnell; brother, George Carnell; sisters, Alma Cook and Tressie Fuller; son Calvin O’Neal; grandson, Brian O’Neal and son-in-law, Richard Norton.

She is survived by her sons: Ed and his wife Wanda of Elmore City, James and his wife Jeaunelda of Sapulpa; and daughter, Shirley Norton of Pauls Valley; grandchildren: Sherry Pearson, Terri Mitchell and husband Keith, Dickie Norton, Lisa McClain, Jane Ellen Deaton and husband James, Melanie Campbell and husband Cameron, James O’Neal Jr. and wife Shyloe, Eddie O’Neal, and Lacie Bell and husband Daniel, 22 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a set of twins due this summer and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Bro. Dewayne Johnson. Interment was at Whitebead Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
