Marie McKay
Marie McKay of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma was born to Walter Harmon and Ruth Mae (Woods) Cox on May 30, 1922 in Temple, Oklahoma and passed from this life on September 21, 2008 at her home near Pauls Valley at the age of 86 years.
Marie grew up and attended school at Temple, graduating in 1941.
On August 3, 1952, Marie married Bill McKay in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Together they made their home there before moving to Pauls Valley in 1972.
Marie was a member of the Elmore City First Baptist Church. She loved being at home and enjoyed reading, traveling, deer hunting, and playing jacks with her grandchildren.
Mrs. McKay is survived by her daughter: Jonita Snow and her husband Joe of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; two brothers: Jim Cox and his wife Lavetta of Comanche, Oklahoma, and Earl Cox and his wife Dean of Temple, Oklahoma; four grandchildren: Melissa Turner, Melanie McKay, Payton Hamm and Michael Connor McKay; and four great-grandchildren: Austin McKay, Lennon Haworth, Dylan Turner and Ashlyn Turner.
Mrs. McKay was preceded in death by her husband: Bill McKay; one son: Michael Wayne McKay on September 26, 1991; her parents: Harmon and Mae Cox; and one sister: Mildred Joella Cox.
Funeral services for Mrs. McKay are scheduled for Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 10 a.m. in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bruce McCray officiating.
Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, Oklahoma under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
