John W. Nabors
John W. Nabors of Pauls Valley was born Oct. 19, 1948, in Wynnewood, Okla., to Elmer W. “Ted” and Jo June (Webster) Nabors.
He passed away Nov. 30, 2009, in Norman, Okla., at the age of 61 years.
John Nabors and Janet Bray were married in Stonewall, Okla., on August 31, 1984. He worked for a time in the oil fields and later came to work for the Rural Water District #1 as District Operator for many years.
He was a member of River of Life Church in Ada, Okla., and a member of the Valley Lodge #6 Masonic Lodge in Pauls Valley as well as a Shriner.
The Pauls Valley area has been his home all of his life.
John was preceded in death by his father, Elmer W. “Ted” Nabors; and brother Sam Nabors.
Surviving family include his wife, Janet, of the home; daughter, Tina Taylor, of Mississippi; his mother, Jo June Nabors; granddaughters, Alysa Taylor and Anna Taylor; a brother, Ted Nabors and his wife Connie, and a sister-in-law, Vicki Nabors, all of Pauls Valley; as well as a niece and a number of nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 3, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the Paoli Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Charles Dial. Interment will be at Paoli Cemetery.
