Jack W. Craig
Jack W. Craig of Paoli was born July 20, 1923 in Ravia, Oklahoma to Fred and Ethel Wyatt Craig. He passed away December 16, 2009 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years.
Jack married to Dorothy Mae Eden in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on March 12, 1944. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Jack was a butcher for his father at the family meat market and then for Louie Davis Grocery. He was the manager of Pratt Grocery Store for many years. He retired from Pauls Valley State School in the mid 1980s where he was a supervisor. Jack very much loved the children that he came to know during his many years at the P.V.S.S. Jack had lived in the Pauls Valley area all of his life.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ethel Craig; brother, Bill Craig and sister, Betty Craig.
Surviving family include his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Craig of the home in Paoli; 2 children: Beverly and Charlie McHam of Paoli, and Freddie and Jamie Craig of Bray; 2 brothers: Ted Craig of Fargo and Dick Craig of Enid; 4 sisters: Virginia Webster and Barbara Simpson, both of Moore, Nancy Martz of Neosho, Missouri, and Bert Roberts of Stratford; 6 grandchildren: Tonya, Brian, Ken, Ann Marie, Craig and Jodi; and 7 great-grandchildren: Nathan, Natalie, Hannah, Austin, Lilly, Sahara, and Roman.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Paoli First Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Tim Duncan. Interment will be at the Paoli Cemetery.
