Mary Louella LaRue

Mary Louella LaRue of Pauls Valley was born on March 17, 1933, in Borger, Texas, to Charley and Effie (Long) Williamson and passed from this life on Thursday, December 24, 2009, in Norman, Okla., at the age of 76 years.

Mary grew up and attended school in Borger, Texas, and graduated from Borger High School. In 1952, she married James Arnold LaRue and worked in the family’s grocery business in Borger.

As a young woman, Mary was a champion bowler and participated in many tournaments and won prize money for her efforts. She was a very good athlete and particularly enjoyed playing softball. Mary loved to play cards, dominoes and board games.

She moved to Pauls Valley about 10 years ago. Mary attended the Valley Christian Church.

Mary is survived by one sister, Evelyn Frakes of Pauls Valley; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Effie Long; her husband, James Arnold LaRue in 1989; one brother, Curtis Williamson, and three sisters: Lois Guyll, Madeline Williamson and Vera Caskey.

Funeral services for Mary Louella LaRue are scheduled for Tuesday, December 29, 2009, in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel in Pauls Valley at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Larry Cornforth officiating. Interment will be in Paoli Cemetery in Paoli, Okla.
