Eva Robbins Bowman Wickware

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Eva Robbins Bowman Wickware, 89, was born to George and Lela Bowman in Wadesboro, N.C. on January 10, 1924 and went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 1, 2013 in Pauls Valley.

Eva was active in the First Methodist Church in Pauls Valley. She enjoyed bowling, reading, quilting, sewing and watching sports.

She met Glennon D. (Wick) Wickware in Wadesboro, N.C. while Wick was serving with the 513th Parachute Infantry of the 17the Division stationed at Camp McCall, N.C. They returned to Pauls Valley and were married February 17, 1946 in the First Presbyterian Church parsonage.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Harriett Alexander; and one brother, Herman Bowman. A niece, Sheila Murray, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband; one sister, Mary Alice VonCannon of Wadesboro, N.C.; niece Gina and Frank Jozwiak and Hannah of Fort Worth, Texas; nephew Carey and Sandy Goggans, Skylar and Chase of Pauls Valley; great nieces, Hillary and Peter Farrell of Oklahoma City and Mariah Murray, Lexington, Ky.

Also surviving are four nieces: Shelby Jean Poppins of Wadesboro, N.C., Ann Moody, Mary Shellam Hill and Janet Kirkley of South Carolina; and a sister-in-law, Annie Bowman of Wadesboro, N.C.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. The Oklahoma City office is located at 6525 N Meridian, Suite 110 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73116. They also may be contacted through their website at www.cancer.org.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church officiated by Pastor Mark Watson.

Memorial services and services for cremation are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
