Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Lonnie Eugene Maples Sr., 64, passed away at his home in Lindsay on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012. He was born on Feb. 21, 1948 in Wasco, Calif., to Alonzo Maples and Mary Francis (Dodd) Maples.

Lonnie moved from Commerce, Okla., to Lindsay four years ago. He had worked as a self-employed logger and became an ordained minister in 1990. Lonnie evangelized for several years traveling all over the state of Oklahoma.

He was a volunteer chaplain at the Lindsay Manor Nursing Home and liked to play music at the nursing home and senior citizen center in Lindsay.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 at the Grace Full Gospel Lighthouse in Lindsay with Lafayette Randle, Dennis Milburn and Kay Snowden officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville.
