Doyle/Mildred Martin

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Doyle Edward Martin, 84, was born to Emma Lee (Easley) and Simeon Walter Martin on June 4, 1928 in Edmond, Okla. Norma Mildred Martin, 82, was born to Emily Jane (Modena) and Clarence James Parker on April 2, 1930 in Seminole, Okla.

Both passed away on November 25, 2012. Mildred’s passing came at 5:30 a.m. in Pauls Valley, Okla., and Doyle followed at 5:40 a.m. in Wynnewood, Okla.

They were married on January 6, 1951 at the First Baptist Church in Wellston, Okla. Their early married life was spent in many places before settling in Lexington for several years.

They then moved to Stratford for 15 years and spent the last 32 years in Wynnewood.

Doyle was an excellent builder and had donated his skills to the building or remodeling of six different churches.

Doyle enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was his wife and family.

Mildred worked beside her husband on the farm as well as raising her children and helping with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to be needed.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters; and he was preceded by 2 brothers and a sister.

Their survivors include a son and daughter-in-law – Walter Kendall and Cynthia Lynn Martin of Wynnewood, Okla.; 4 daughters and sons-in-law – Norma Doylene and Larry Glenn Woods of Ada, Okla., Rhonda and Ken Moore of Wynnewood, Okla., Fonda and Bob Blackwell of Wayne, Okla, and Sue and Jeff McMahan of Pauls Valley, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild on the way.

She also has 3 sisters – Anna Thomas of Oklahoma City, Okla., Anita Kimball of Harrah, Okla., and Oleta Stone of Shawnee, Okla.

Services for both will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Wynnewood, Okla., officiated by Rev. Darrell Phillips and Rev. Steve Hogue.

Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood.

Arrangements are under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home in Wynnewood.
