Bill Burgess of Pauls Valley was born on January 30, 1944 in Tuckerman, Arkansas to John T. and Virginia ( Hamilton) Burgess and departed this life on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the age of 66 years.
Bill grew up and attended school in Michigan and California, attending college at Bakersfield Jr. College in Bakersfield, California.
On June 1, 1974, Bill married Judi Johnston in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they made their home in California and then moved to Arkansas.
The Burgess family moved to Pauls Valley in 1999. Bill owned and operated Burgess Oilfield Sales and Service in California and then went into law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff in Clarksville , Arkansas. He also worked for Wal-Mart as an asset protection supervisor. Bill loved watching Nascar racing. The highlight of his life was his family.
Bill is survived by his wife: Judi of the home; 2 daughters: Tanya Wages and her husband Joe of Clarksville, Arkansas, and Tammy Bender and her husband Barry of Ventura, California; 2 brothers: Edward “Bob” Burgess and his wife Gail of Pauls Valley, and Stanley “Wayne” Burgess and his wife Mary of Pauls Valley; and 4 grandchildren: Kaylee and Blake Bender, Justis Burgess, and Logan Wages.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Virginia Burgess; his son, Bobby Burgess, and his sister, Teri Hood.
