Stratford got off to a great start in the district defeating defending Class B State Champ Caddo 24-14 on the road Friday night.
Kyle Qualls and Dakota Noland paced the offense with 205 yards rushing between them. Qualls finished with 105 yards and a touchdown and Noland had 100 yards rushing and a touchdown rushing and a touchdown receiving.
Noland gave the Bulldogs the early lead with a 23 yard run a minute and a half into the game.
Noland then hauled in a 12-yard touchdown pass from Randy Brown and Stratford was up 14-0 in the second quarter.
Caddo fought back and Cory Savoy cut the lead in half with a 6-yard touchdown run.
The defenses came up big in the third and early in the fourth quarter. After pinning Caddo deep in their own territory, Noland came up big with a sack in the end zone on Caddo quarterback Triston Paris for a safety.
Caddo wasn’t out of it as Zac McMillin hauled in a 22-yard touchdown pass from Paris to cut the lead to 16-14 late in the game.
Qualls sealed the Stratford victory as he raced into the end zone from 18 yards out to give the Bulldogs a 10-point win.
Bradstreet paced the Bulldog defense with 7 tackles. Kelley, Reynolds and Miller added 6 tackles each and Miller also recovered a fumble.
Stratford will go out of district this week as they travel to Marietta to face the Indians.
