The Elmore City-Pernell Lady Badgers won their ninth game in a row Saturday defeating Wilson 50-26 in the Royce Teakell Gymnasium in Elmore City.
An ugly start to the game turned in Elmore’s favor over the final three quarters of action. Both teams went over four minutes before a ball fell through the basket.
At that time Wilson’s Olivia Howard gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead. That would be their only lead of the game as ECP Jordan Simpson scored a minute later to give ECP a 2-1 lead, a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.
Elmore got a little spark to end the first quarter scoring six straight. That run continued on in the second quarter and ECP extended their run to 9-1. The Lady Badgers behind six points from Alexis Walck to a 21-8 half time lead.
Six different Lady Badgers got into the scoring column to start the second half as ECP extended their lead out to 20 points.
Rebecca Herrod had five points and Sophia Landers added four as the Lady Badgers opened up a 39-14 lead.
Wilson outscored ECP in the final quarter but the damage was already done in the previous quarter as the Lady Badgers raced to a 24-point win.
