In Big 8 Tournament action, the Wynnewood Lady Savages held off Dibble for a 44-41 win in the third place game Friday night. Burrough and J. Carter scored 11 and 10 respectively to lead Wynnewood to the win.
Wynnewood fell to the third place game after losing to Stratford in the semifinals 50-29. Carter once again led the way for Wynnewood with 11. Weast had 14, Fulp 12 and Barrett 10 to lead Stratford.
In the boys consolation, Dibble held off Paoli in a nail bitter 49-48 Friday night. Aaron Webster led all scorers with 18 points for the Pugs and Dustin Duncan added 15. Dibble was led by Browning who had 14 and Cook who had 11.
In other semifinal action Thursday, Elmore City fought off a tough Wayne team for a 57-51 win. Quinton Stueart led all scorers with 20 points for the Badgers. Burks and McCaskill both chipped in 14 in the win. Fisher led the Bulldogs with 16 points and Martin added 11 and Welch 10 in a losing.
Saturday’s games include Elmore City-Pernell Lady Badgers and CCS playing in the consolation finals at 2 p.m. and Wayne and Stratford meet in the finals at 5 p.m. On the boys side, Stratford and Wayne will meet in the third place game at 3:30 while Elmore City-Pernell and CCS meet in the title game at 6:30 p.m.
