Stratford and Elmore City-Pernell both picked up wins Friday night in Big 8 Conference action. Stratford knocked off a tough Wayne squad 42-38 while ECP swept Maysville.
In Wayne, Stratford jumped out early and then held on late for the huge win. Stratford used an early 8-0 run to break open the game to lead by 6 after the first quarter.
The game went back-and-forth from there and Stratford held off a late rally for the win.
DeAmber Barrett led Stratford with 13 points, Weast added 7, Fulp 6, Parks 5, Hatter 4, Tice 4 and Alberson 3. Clifton led all scorers with 15 for Wayne.
In Elmore City, the Badgers celebrated senior night in a big way defeating the Warriors of Maysville 94-40 and 71-12.
In the girls game 11 of the 12 girls got into the scoring column for the Lady Badgers in a 41-12 win. Rebecca Herrod led the way with 13.
Mo. Lewis added 9, Simpson 8, Landers 7, Burks 6, Nelson 6, Ma. Lewis 6, Jimenez 6, Walck 2, Winett 2 in the win.
On the boys side the Badgers had too much Chace McCaskill early on as the senior hit 13 of his game high 25 points in the opening session to lead ECP to a 94-40 win.
Quinton Stueart had 18, Zack Burks 12 and Shane Collins 10 for the Badgers in double figures.
Gonzales added 8, Solmes 8, Wallace 4, Schmidt 3, Tucker 3, Turner 2, and Ratchford 2.
ECP travels to Community Christian on Saturday night while Stratford will host Earlsboro.
