Pauls Valley pitcher Ty Knight followed up a sluggish start at Little Axe on Saturday with a no hitter at home Tuesday against the Atoka Wampus Cats.
Knight pitched seven strong inning allowing no run and no hits. He struck out 12 and walked three and Atoka only had one other base runner in the game and he reached via an error in a 7-0 win.
Knight struck out the side twice in the game and at one point struck out five in a row in the fourth and fifth innings.
The Panther offense struggle a bit but finished with seven runs on seven hits two each by Colton Wimberly and Knight.
Pauls Valley struck in the first with a two-out rally. Three-hole batter David Flores start the inning with a walk. Daniel Brown reached on and error sending Flores to third. Williams singled home Flores and a bobbled ball in the outfield allowed Brown to score. Williams would score as Tanner Hamilton reached on an error for a 3-0 Pauls Valley lead.
Pauls Valley added a run in the second as Wimberly singled to start the inning. Wimberly would move around the bases and scored on Tyler Butts two-out single.
Brown would reach on an error to start the third. He stole second and moved to third on a ground ball out and would score on a passed ball.
PV added two insurance runs in the sixth. With one-out Wimberly was hit with a pitch. Blake LeMay was also hit with a pitch. Knight double to score Wimberly and Butts’ ground out scored LeMay as PV improved to 4-0 with a 7-0 win.
PV will be at Brick Town Ballpark Friday night as they play Bethany at 7 p.m.
