After a week off the No. 1 team in Class A didn’t seem at all rusty. The Wynnewood Savages wracked up 475 yards in a 58-0 win at Maysville Friday night.
The Savages ground attack pounded out 369 yards on 20 carries. Leading the ground attack was Trey Knowles who had 139 yards on four carries with three touchdowns.
In all eight different backs carried the ball for Wynnewood and two other caught passes.
Curtis Rushing got the scoring started with a 32-yard touchdown run. Gus Reinert followed that up with a 48-yard pass from Jace Brown and the Savages were on their way to a 35-point first quarter.
Knowles would score his first touchdown on a 55-yard run. Reinert would intercept a pass and return in 39 yards for his second touchdown of the night.
Knowles would follow wotj a 7-run touchdown run and a 35-0 lead.
The scoring slowed down after that with Pete Carter hauling in a 58-yard touchdown pass from Brown.
Knowles they blasted out a 70-yard touchdown run.
Jacob Ivey would cap off the first half scoring as he tackled the Maysville quarterback in the end zone for a safety.
Dylan Bruner capped off the scoring with a 30-yard touchdown run in the second half to lift Wynnewood to their fourth win of the year.
Wynnewood will be back on the road this week as they travel to Elmore City to face the Badgers.
