Bulldogs fall short
A pair of first half touchdowns by the Stratford Bulldogs was off set by a pair of second half touchdowns by the Crescent Tigers lifting them to a 15-13 win over the Bulldogs Friday night at Blackburn Field in Stratford.
Missed opportunities and five turnovers cost the Bulldogs in this non-district game. Stratford had four interceptions and one fumble. In the second quarter, Chase Chamberlain, who had 92 yards rushing and 113 passing, powered his way into the end zone from four yards out giving the Bulldogs a 13-0 half time lead.
It was Darian Bennet for Crescent in the second half. He scored on runs of 14 and five and with the successful conversions; Crescent took a 15-13 lead and held on for the win.
“We had our chances,” Stratford head coach Michael Blackburn said. “We just didn’t finish our drives.”
