The No. 1 team in Class A, the Wynnewood Savages, remained perfect Friday night at Wheeler Field in Elmore City.
They knew they had been in a fight when the left pulling away with a 40-22 win over the Badgers.
Elmore City had some success slowing down the Savages running game but Jace Brown had a huge night through the air.
The senior quarterback threw for 175 yards and three touchdowns to led the Savages to the win.
He had touchdown passes to Pete Carter, Levi Phillips and Derek Schafer on the night. Phillips was his favorite target with four catches for 99 yards. Carter had two catches for 82 yards.
Knowles finished the game with 55 yards on 14 carries and scored two touchdown. Curtis Rushing added 51 yards on 8 carries and had a touchdown.
In all Wynnewood had 155 yards on the ground, well below their season average.
Wynnewood will now have back-to-back home games as they host Caddo and Stratford. Elmore City will be on the road at Maysville before their bye week on fall break weekend.
