Enid, OK — Officials at Enid High School are investigating who put a fake bomb with a threatening note attached inside a bathroom, leading to an evacuation Monday of the entire school.
Spokeswoman Amber Fitzgerald says more than 1,750 students were evacuated safely. A cylinder with protruding wires was found at about noon Monday in the boys bathroom in the high school's annex building.
Authorities say the device turned out to be an air conditioning capacitor.
Fitzgerald tells the Enid News and Eagle (http://is.gd/9G7KAx ) that whoever's responsible could face criminal charges as well as a school suspension.
The students were evacuated to the school's stadium, where traffic was backed up by parents coming to pick up their children. Students and employees were allowed back in the building at about 4 p.m. Monday
