Clinton ‘Sonny’ Copeland

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Clinton “Sonny” Copeland of Wynnewood was born on November 14, 1933 in Hickory, Oklahoma to Claude and Agnes (Stafford) Copeland and passed from this life on Friday, January 11, 2013 in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years.

Sonny served his country in the U.S. Army in the 1950s. He was a self-employed painter and drywall construction worker for many years.

Mr. Copeland is survived by his son Randy Copeland and wife Shannon of Quinlin, Texas; daughter Kay Shoffstall and husband Don of Arcadia, Oklahoma; sister Ruby Ozment of Wynnewood, Oklahoma; brothers Jerry Copeland of Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Richard Copeland and Jimmy Copeland, both of Texas; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Copeland is preceded in death by his parents Claude and Agnes Copeland; his sister Mary Wheeler; and his great-granddaughter Stacy Choate.

A Call for Donations

Helping spread the word in as many places as possible Tuesday morning, Pauls Valley resident Kalista Basaldua puts up Main Street Pauls Valley posters listing items needed for those impacted by Monday’s tornado in the Moore area. Since word started spreading, the response has been overwhelmingly positive with several truck loads dropped off at a distribution point in Norman.
