Peggy Young

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Peggy Young of Pauls Valley passed away January 31, 2013 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 62 years.

She was born August 24, 1950 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Robert R. and Jinnie M. (Petty) Reed.

She is a graduate of East Central University in Ada where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She worked for the Department of Human Services and was a Social Services Specialist II. At her retirement she had worked 25 years with the DHS.

Peggy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pauls Valley and has made Pauls Valley her home all of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lillian Frances Lott; one brother, Billy Bob Reed; and one nephew, Bobby Reed.

Surviving family include her daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Scott Holloway; brother and sister-in-law, Buster and Carol Reed; three grandchildren: Jared Holloway, Nick Holloway and Ethan Holloway, all of Pauls Valley; and one sister, Betty Stribling of Ardmore; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 4, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance, officiated by Dr. Joe Elam.

Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

Joining the Pauls Valley City Council officially for the first time during Tuesday’s meeting, Patrick Grimmett was sworn in by acting Mayor Billy Riddle that evening. He joins the council after defeating former Mayor Tim Gamble in the elections held on April 2.
