Glendon R. Bonner

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Glendon R. Bonner of Pauls Valley was born on May 6, 1932 to Raymond and Maggie (Mayberry) Bonner and passed from this life on February 18, 2013 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years.

Glendon was born and raised in the Peavine community of Garvin County. On April 6, 1968 Glendon married Kathryn Gibson in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. He worked in the oil field, in construction doing dry wall work, and was the owner of Glen’s Bakery.

Glendon enjoyed going to the lake, boating and watching westerns. The highlight of his life were Kathryn and his kids.

The most important thing he taught others about life was to work hard, take responsibility for your actions and above all to take care of your family.

Glendon is survived by his wife – Kathryn Bonner of the home; 3 sons – Dennis Higgins and wife Darla, Larry Higgins and wife Becky, and Gary Higgins and wife Becky; 3 daughters – Lisa Bonham and husband Chuck, Sharon Brown and husband Donald, and Charlotte Bonner and husband Ross; brother – Jim Bonner; 26 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Glendon is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Maggie Bonner; his daughter Carolyn Lou Bonner; brothers Jerald and Leon Bonner; and his sister Oletha Lawrence.

The funeral service for Glendon R. Bonner of Pauls Valley has been changed to 2 p.m. Friday, February 22 at the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

A Call for Donations

Helping spread the word in as many places as possible Tuesday morning, Pauls Valley resident Kalista Basaldua puts up Main Street Pauls Valley posters listing items needed for those impacted by Monday’s tornado in the Moore area. Since word started spreading, the response has been overwhelmingly positive with several truck loads dropped off at a distribution point in Norman.
