Donald R. Carpenter

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Donald R. Carpenter of Oklahoma City, formerly of Pauls Valley, passed away March 6, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years.

 Donald was born September 28, 1938 in Walters, Oklahoma to James Thomas and Leona Viola Rose (Grant) Carpenter. He was raised in the area of Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma where he entered the U.S. Navy.

 In 1965, he and Hatsue Watanubby were married in Tokyo, Japan 1965. Donald retired after 20 years’ service in the U.S. Navy.

 Pauls Valley was his home for about 20 years. During that time he worked in Law Enforcement with the Garvin County Sherriff’s Office. Later, he moved to Oklahoma City where his work in Law Enforement continued with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office. Oklahoma City has been his home for the past 20 years.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Leona Carpenter; and three brothers: Wayne Carpenter in 2011, J.D. Carpenter in 1990 and Raymond Carpenter in 1988.

 Surviving family includes his wife, Hatsue of the home; brother, Roger Carpenter of Oklahoma City; sister, Ruth Stropes of Bethany; and sister-in-law, Tretha Carpenter of Paoli.

 Graveside services were held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery officiated by Rev. Charles Dean.
