Alcohol at center of wreck

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Alcohol is believed to have been at the center of a one-vehicle accident over the weekend for both the driver and a passenger.

A report released by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol shows the wreck occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday, Jan. 27 at a site just east of Wynnewood.

The vehicle, a 2003 Ford Expedition, was driven by Angela Collier, 32, of Cleveland Texas.

It was traveling southbound on a county road when, according to state troopers, the driver was distracted by an intoxicated passenger.

At a listed time of 1:46 a.m. Sunday the vehicle ran off the roadway to the left about 90 feet north of state Highway 29. It then struck a ditch and overturned one time.

The distraction cited by troopers was the listed cause of the accident.

Troopers also reported there was an odor of an alcoholic beverage on Collier.

Collier was transported by Pauls Valley E.M.S. to Pauls Valley General Hospital. She was later taken by ambulance to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted in stable condition with trunk internal injuries.

There were also three passengers inside the vehicle when the accident happened — none of which were hurt.

The trio of passengers were Stephanie Gray, 25, of Sulphur; Grant Love, 29, of Thicket, Texas; and Robby Bass, 39, of Ardmore.

All four individuals were reported to be wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

Assisting OHP Trooper Heath Green of the Garvin County Detachment at the wreck site were Wynnewood police and firefighters and Garvin County deputies.
