The Pauls Valley Lady Panthers had their chances Monday night in Dickson. They led for a majority of the second half but couldn’t hold on and had to go to overtime. Dickson took over in the extra period and kept PV at arms length in a 54-50 win.
Dickson jumped out early and looked like they were going to blow out the Lady Panthers. Charity Trammell sparked the PV offense with six straight points to start the second to get back into the game and the game went back-and-forth from there.
With Pauls Valley leading by six to start the fourth quarter, Dickson would go on a 12-5 run to take the lead. They would lead 45-43 late in the game. PV had two opportunities to bank in a shot in the final seconds but couldn’t get the ball to fall.
Kallie McMahan kept fighting and got a rebound as was with less than a second on the clock. McMahan went to the line and knocked down a pair of free throws to tie the game and send it into overtime.
It was all Dickson in the overtime as they built a five-point lead early holding on for a 54-50 win.
Veronica Alvarado had 13 to lead PV. McMahan had 8 and Humphrey, Balcerak, Trammell and Lambeth had 6 each and Richardson 5.
Pauls Valley will play Wynnewood tonight as they finish up the regular season.

Helping spread the word in as many places as possible Tuesday morning, Pauls Valley resident Kalista Basaldua puts up Main Street Pauls Valley posters listing items needed for those impacted by Monday’s tornado in the Moore area. Since word started spreading, the response has been overwhelmingly positive with several truck loads dropped off at a distribution point in Norman.

Historical record will forever mark May 20 as one of the somber moments for the residents of Moore, Oklahoma, but for a handful of emergency officials in the Pauls Valley area, conditions were right for a similar tragedy to unfold here as well.
