PV falls to No. 4 Latta

marie@pvdemocrat.com — Pauls Valley tried to rally against the No. 4 team in Class 2A Thursday in Tishomingo Tournament.

PV was able to cut a double digit Latta lead to five in the fourth quarter but had to expend too much energy to get to that point and couldn’t get all the way back falling 67-57 late.

Genesis Meave had a season high 23 points as he couldn’t miss in Pauls Valley 35-point fourth quarter. Sanders hit double figures for PV with 10.

Latta countered with Storts who also had 23 points in the game. Hayes and Collins both hit double figures for Latta with 18 and 14 respectively.

Pauls Valley didn’t play as well on Friday losing to Kingston and bowing out of the tournament.

Pauls Valley will be on the road to Marlow Friday in their next scheduled game.

Latta 10 17 9 31 - 67

PV 8 8 6 35 - 57

Pauls Valley – Meave 23, Sanders 10, Moore 7, Tate 6, Lash 5, Hamilton 4

Latta - Storts 23, Hayes 18, Collins 14, Johnson 5, Cantrell 3, Stockton 2, Tully 1.
