Area teams 3-for-3 Saturday

marie@pvdemocrat.com — The Pauls Valley Lady Panthers won for the second time in a row while Wynnewood and Lindsay both claimed third place finishes in their respective tournaments over the weekend.

The Lady Panthers jumped out big on Atoka in the consolation finals of the Tishomingo Tournament. A very athletic Atoka team made a late push but PV held on for a 43-41 win.

Lindsay jumped out early on Elk City and rolled to a 56-42 win over the Lady Elks in the third place game of the Jones Tournament. Lohan led the way for Lindsay with 20 points and Hibbard added 15.

Wynnewood won their third game in three days beating the host school Healdton in the Bulldog Bash.

In action tonight, Wynnewood host Elmore City-Pernell, Stratford travels to Dibble, Lindsay is at Newcastle and PV has the night off.

Helping meet a need

Acting as an example of the kindness that has resulted from a request for donations from Main Street Pauls Valley, local resident Holley Sanders is seen here helping carry supplies along with Paramedic John Stegall to her truck earlier this morning. EMS through Pauls Valley General Hospital is another local organization that has helped gather items and take it to the Main Street Office at the corner of Paul and Walnut Streets. "Two friends of mine lost their homes and I felt for them," said Sanders, who is among those who have offered to take items to a drop off site in Norman. "I wanted to do something." More information will be included in stories and photos in Thursday's edition of the PV Democrat. A list of needed items can be found here: http://mainstreetpaulsvalley.com/
